They must have some real supply chain issues since they have closed orders on the Impreza and Forester which are two of their best sellers. They have also pushed out orders for the Solterra which they were banking on as there EV break through.

Historically Subaru of all the manufacturers has run the tightest when it came to supply even pre-pandemic. Long known to have the lowest amount of incentives required to move vehicles. If Automotive News is to be believed, then currently Subaru is currently on a 4 day supply at least for last month in the US.
So any production or supply hits to them is probably more painful for them than most automakers.
That said I've already seen at least GM resort to removing features like heated seats and heated steering wheel. They at least provide credits which hopefully means the car is technically cheaper. I haven't heard the Japanese makers go this far yet or at least not that I know of.
