Looks like oil, but I can't find a fresh spot. Entirely possible that someone screwed up changing the oil, but that would have been me for the last 6 years or so . Whatever it is, it's on the 'skid plate' and engine, but oddly nothing else.
There was a time when oil leaking out was just a given (old British cars). It was not until I bought my first new car, a 1973 Honda Civic that I realized that stuff does not have to leak. My Honda motorcycles were pretty much clean as well. My rule was that if after 24 hours there was no puddle on the ground beneath the car, the leak was not worth going after. Another benchmark I used was that I was likely burning more oil than what might leak out anyway. A lot of my buddies back then had to add a quart of oil every other gas stop as standard operating procedure.
