Sounds like a bad install job. The slave cylinder is only driving hydraulic fluid from the master cylinder. Luckily, slave (assistant) cylinders are real cheap and easy to change out yourself. As far as the clutch fork, you can just change it out with a new stock one and get a lot of mileage out of it, or use the aftermarket ones. Also change out your pivot point and your TOB to be safe.
