you have to consider that once more tuning options come out for the second gen and you get e85 with headers + tune on a second gen it won't even be close compared to your tuned first gen. I just hope shiv decides to offer support for the second gen on oft so we have a more economical tuning option over ecutek and its locked tunes.

ATM from most review videos it sounds like a first gen on headers + tune and petrol is close but still a bit behind a stock second gen.

Me wanting to eventually upgrade to second gen once my financing for my first gen is complete next year is based on it's higher potential ceiling than the first gen, not how good the car is stock vs modded first gen. Tinkering with my car is fun to me so there's no chance my eventual second gen will remain stock.
