They have not stopped building them. What happened was Subaru stopped taking customer custom orders because those slots had already been filled. Toyota didn't take custom orders so there was no impact to their production.
So, basically, what you can get moving forward is a car allocated to a dealer, but not a specific build from the factory.
Ironically, this forum was the source of the original information, but that was later confirmed through Subaru.
