The problem with many high in reds and bottle caps is aging. Cork stoppers allow a wine bottle to breath slowly or exchange air over time. Bottle caps don't let any air through at all.
I did read a while back how some group was trying to design a screw top with some sort of bag on the inside that would release oxygen to try to mimic the natural inefficiency of cork. Don't know if they succeeded.
A nice Pinot I buy often has a screw top.
