The GMA has twice the cylinders and valves as the GT3, so despite the equal displacement, it has the advantage in flow, heat dissipation, shorter stroke for faster revs, smaller pistons for less inertia, higher compression, etc, etc, etc. It is clearly a superior engine from an output perspective. This shouldn't be a surprise, right? Like a Synergy V8 will destroy most 2-2.4L four cylinders of equal size. He is just saying the GT3 is great, but it doesn't wake up until 5k, but his car has a flatter torque curve despite the equal displacement and without sacrificing the top end power/redline.
