What would be cheaper to maintain, a Toyota with a Subaru engine or a Toyota with a BMW engine?

I'd rather have a Toyota with a Toyota engine, actually. That GR Yaris would be fun if it wasn't a $40k car. I think that's why most people buy 4Runners. They are very reliable and hold their value well.
