I somewhat disagree with you here.
For someone who needs
one car that does it all, that's a viable way to score. You know, Golf GTI and WRX are popular for a reason.
What's good about his scoring system is that he still breaks down by sub-groups like "weekend" and "daily".
He makes those available front and center — if all you need is a car for the weekend, just look at the "weekend" score.
He also makes it clear that it's subjective, even calling it a
DougScore.
