I think since the US is not a car market, but rather a truck and SUV market, I don't think Toyota will make the GR Corolla as track/race oriented as the GR Yaris. They're going to try to target as many people as possible, and having the CF roof will push up the price, and will turn off many of the potential buyers here. From a corporate perspective, they will profit the most by basing the GR Corolla on a fully loaded XSE trim, so actually the opposite of a hardcore model.
They seem to target the hatchback as pretty sporty. Then again, I've seen Kia and others show their econo sedans on track or drifting lol.
