Just add your last 8 to that and you have your full VIN for insurance or whatever. The last 8 is all you need for window sticker. You can Google VIN decoder and plug that in and you will see why they only have you the last 8. The first part tells you the manufacturer, plant, car,, year, etc.. |
This further confirms my suspicion that the last digit of the "same" part is a check digit and hence not the same---see the other example posted JF1ZDBE18...
