Then can and will notice that the ECU has been touched/modified. Even if you rollback to a standard tune before you return to the dealer.

Good to know. I wouldn't think you could use a check sum against data that's dynamic (eg, knock count). Or, does it only do checks on the static parts of the ROM?
I'm only going on what I've been told by the EcuTek distributor.
I'd like to take my 86 (after a tune) to a friendly Toyota Service Centre and see what they do you check it.
Anyone suggest somewhere in Syd I can take it? I would like to see for myself (hard when two people tell you different things).
