I got the attempt at humor, so it wasn't that I was being stupid. I just often prefer to respond in a literal way in spite of what is obvious, since my response may add to the topic in a constructive way, and I didn't acknowledge the humor or retort with a joke back because I wasn't in a mood to be amused or to be funny, but I'll make an effort to at least throw up a hahaha next time, so people know I recognized the attempt.
