Rev counter Trigger

Busy with an engine swap in an 2013 GT86/FRS/BRZ, is all that is needed to get the rev counter to work with standard ECU to connect up the standard sensor on a original style trigger plate? No cam sensors, etc needed?

Have currently a 36-2 trigger plate being used for the engine, so will need to add an additional one fitted or get a electronically made signal from the 36-2.
