Intel has taken the gaming crown back indeed, but for now, it will be out of reach for a majority of the PC community. Which can still enjoy great performance with AMD processors and current hardware.

In regards to 4, MSI is releasing a few boards that still accep DDR4 so that could help mitigate the upgrade. Though, you could argue it's pointless to upgrade 2 components and not the 3rd.
