The car was a competent handler and quick enough to not feel slow, but FWD was rarely fun to drive. I think the best selling point was that the interior is really very good, comfortable, good for road trips or commuting...as long as the roof isn't pissing hot water on to your wife.
I actually feel pretty lucky that the new BRZ is coming out right now when I need a car anyway.

See I had a MK7 Golf with no sunroof. Very competent daily driver. Better than any car I've ever owned for commuting and was a blast on the Tail of the Dragon when I lived in Chattanooga. I never had any real issues with it besides it once threw a CEL for the passenger seat weight sensor but it never came back.
