I think STR makes the most sense if they don't want it to be an immediate overdog. While STU is "theoretically" faster than STR it rarely ever is. This year at Nats the top cars in STU and the top cars in STX were all within a few tenths, and all 4s off the STR pace. Both courses were very STR friendly, but still...I think the car would quickly become one of the top cars to have in STU.

STR could use the help in numbers, the car technically fits the "philosophy" of the class too, makes sense.

The differences in the ND1 and ND2 are very small in ST trim. A lot of the power gains came from the changes that let it safely go from 6800 redline to 7200 redline that many people were already tuning to in the ND1, so full tilt builds the power wasn't that different, nowhere near where a Gen 1 vs 2 Twin will end up.
