Thanks for the welcome. I was searching for rebuild kits, and gee whiz they’re high. Those are for stock clearances too. I believe that knocks out machining the crank and honing the block since I can’t find oversized bearings. Short blocks are more than a used engine.

Will any other Subaru engines be a plug and play? I saw one from a crosstrek that was reasonably priced. These fa20s range from 3-6 grand.
