Well, I reckon that's your call. Back in the day, the older engines were almost covered with oil. We didn't worry about it unless it started dripping, then we would just put a drip pan (old cookie pan) on the floor/ground under the drip. If the collection of drips got worse, we would just add a quart of oil from time to time.
