Just wondering if the OEM kicker sub box can be used without the amp, and if the sub is unique or if any standard sub can be used.

I'm looking for a sub box that takes up as little space as possible, and doesn't cost as much as the JL Audio box. The MTX would have been fine, and i saw another one but the company seems to have disappeared. that leaves either DIY or use the OEM Subaru.

I have an aftermarket head unit and plan to apply sound deadening materials to the doors and elsewhere but I think i want just a bit more low-frequency.
