Honestly I think all sports cars are trying to be ok at commuting. Look at all the adaptive shocks and various settings. This enables the car to be quiet and soft for cruising, loud and stiffer for the track and everything in between. But these are on more expensive cars. Someday the tech might get down to the twin level.
I use my BRZ as a DD and it is the most fun. More than my 04 WRX.
Debating miata vs a twin is mostly subjective and which one you like more.
