Yep, back in the old Army, they were everywhere.

They were designated "T" building since they were to be "temporary".

(1940 - 1970 +) = Army temporary)

As a cadet, I spent a number of weeks in them. Yes, the floors were hardwood and we had to spit shine them. For that reason we took off our boots at the door.

Insulated walls - not, air conditioning - not, fans - not.

The picture depicts the upper ranking enlisted barracks (not double bunked).
