i think first gen, especially early base models, stays a little truer to the simple lightweight rwd sports car formula...physical tach/speedo vs digi, physical key start, cable driven hvac knobs, sound tube vs sound actuator, it is a little lighter. gotta respect that beyond those things, the 2nd gen retains much of the formula.
