Unless you need to quickly accelerate (floor it). It's 6 gears automatic, so the number of gears is quite alot to shift faster. Ford Ranger for example is 10 gears automatic, so it shifts even more frequent and if you floor it it will actually start to skip shifts to go up in gears faster.

So there is nothing wrong with your automatic gearbox.
