There is a supply problem in less affluent places and the WHO director is remarking on how the vaccine would be more effective overall if everyone, everywhere were to get the first doses, rather than rich people getting boosters. It's kind of sad that certain places have so much supply, but a lack of willingness to use it all, when other places don't have enough to begin with.
I guess the "Eat your dinner, there's starving children in Africa" lesson didn't really sink in for some people.

The article does state..

...and...
"...The WHO said last week current data does not indicate that COVID-19 booster shots are needed....."
...which surprised me. Those are fairly unequivocal statements. If those statementa are true, why are boosters even being discussed for anyone other than those at very high risk?
