Anyone have good site recommendations for the old air cooled vw boxer 4 engines?

My father-in-law is finally parting with the basket case engine he tore down, had machined, then bagged, and crated away 35+ years ago. My wife went to visit her parents and it is being sent home with her.

It's supposed to be complete minus the distributor, but who really knows at this point. Which CC it was is unknown. All I know for sure is it has single port not dual port heads.

I'm also looking for project ideas if the engine turns out to still be usable.
