X only means the car has not completed the evap monitors. The tech should have run the self test before declaring it done, but I guess it wasn't important lol.
About how hard it is to take ther subframe off, one day after work I had dropped my exhaust, driveshaft, fuel tank, rear subframe, EVAP equipment, fender liners and underbody heat shields and plastic protections to shoot it with rust proofing and had all that stuff back on in the same evening.
Rear subframes aren't hard to take out, I've been doing a bunch of rear AC lines on Ford Explorers and from walking out with the key I get the rear subframes out of those in about 45 minutes.
