I can confirm fellas. These jdm exhaust hangers do indeed help with drone.

My current exhaust setup is the Tomei EL Header, JDL Ultra Quiet Catted FP, and the RS 1.0 TRD Quad Tip Exhaust.

I have been on the journey to kill drone ever since. Out of the box, the TRD quad tip exhaust is quite a bit droney. Installing my EL only amplified the drone and made it even more difficult to live with.

My first attempt to solve drone was the Noico sound deadening sheets from Amazon. I applied it all around the area of the spare tire and even applied a bit under the passenger seats like the Youtube videos recommend. The results were honestly minimal for the amount of work I put into rolling out all the sheets. Not to mention, that the sheets were real dense and probably added a few pounds. The drone was slightly muted. Kind of like if you were to play a loud speaker and throw a down feather blanket over it. It took away a little bit of the sharpness of the drone but it was still definitely there. If you are really looking to do everything you can to get rid of the droney noise and are willing to spend the time + $60, then go for it. I will warn you tho, do not set your expectations too high because this mod only kills like 10-15% of the drone.

Next, I installed the JDL Ultra Quiet Front Pipe hoping that the "big ol resonator" may help a bit. To be quite honest, it did. The drone from 3500-4000 was almost completely gone and the drone on the lower end was eliminated by around 35-40%. I was extremely satisfied and it even cleaned up the tone to sound less tinny. However, as we all know, JDL is amazing quality and with quality comes price. If you are from CA like me, this is also another mod that is not CARB legal, even with the cat and all.

Last were these JDM STi Exhaust hangers that OP mentioned. I bought them off blackhawkjp and here is the link https://www.blackhawkjapan.com/produ...aru-44066aj010. They are for a Subaru Legay but they fit on my setup. To my surprise, the shipping was extremely fast. Im talking like in 5 days from Japan fast. Anyways, it was a pretty straightforward install. My car is is on TRD lowering springs and has a TRD diffuser, so crawling under was tight, but I was able to do everything without a lift. All you need is some WD-40, a flathead, one of those clamper wrenches and some elbow grease. It solved like 65% of the remaining drone that I had. Definitely the best value for your money. I recommend everyone to try this first before doing anything else.

This is definitely a groundbreaking discovery in the drone world and I cannot thank OP enough. I am taking a 9 hr road trip in the coming weeks and cannot be more grateful. The hangers worked for my setup, but does this does not mean it will work for every setup so proceed at your own risk.
