Subaru field engineer says OEM wheel studs only good for 75 to 80 wheel changes
The OEM nuts suck. I haven’t had trouble with any studs, but I had 3 nuts that were going crunchy. Replaced then with fresh Mutekis and later Gorillas and threading had been smooth ever since. Only reason I got the gorillas is because I preferred the look of the closed end.
It’s probably not the only factor but I’m sure it helps keeping the threads clean. I wish everyone just used lug bolts, so much less hassle.
