My experience with the RE71R is that they were very good here in the PNW during Spring and Fall. But if run close to or above 80F ambient, I could kill them in a single track day.
They were a good tool that allowed me to play with GT3’s and GT4’s (I’m a PCA national instructor) running CCW at ORP. But due to the rapid wear, I couldn’t afford to continue running them.
They also seemed to camber wear more than any other tire I’ve used.
A student that I right seated with recently had the Azenis. He also made the comment that they were comparable to the RE71R. But long before I finished the day with him, I thought “These are no RE71R’s.”
