Here's how the hierarchy at Subaru/ Toyota goes:

EVs and Crossovers.
...
Compact cars and sedans
...
What's on the menu in the cafeteria.
...
GR86/ BRZ.

The reveal of these cars has been muddled and somewhat unimpressive, to say the least. I wouldn't be surprised if they relied on the intern to communicate with some outside agencies to handle most of the marketing simply because Toyota/ Subaru can't afford to invest internal human resources into doing all of the marketing while working on projects that actually make money and are vital to both brand's survival - EVs and Crossovers.

So things look and feel "off."

Gen II was never going to be the second coming. My expectations have been nil going into this. The fact we got a second gen is a miracle. I could not give less of an A about how crappy the reveals have been, misinformation, and so on. It would be nice if it was handled better, but here we are, at the end of the ICE.

In 15 years most companies will have killed gas motors. The manual will be forever gone. Everything will drive and feel the same. Take what you are being given and be happy about it.
