Discovery on STi JDM axleback and perhaps others

Finally able to report back in brief, as I installed all 5 on my car a few days back while pulling it out of winter storage (a little late, I know). Took 10 minutes with a can of WD40 to help wrestle the stock hangers off.

For reference, my exhaust setup:
- JDL 4-2-1 EL Header
- Stock OP/FP
- Invidia R400 cat-back

This setup is far from the loudest but it is not quiet when you are on throttle. Under low load it remains basically as quiet as stock in the city, but on the highway especially going up hills (where mild load is introduced) I was getting drone right in my cruising speed of 120-130kph (3400-3600rpms-ish).

I’m actually alarmed at how much of a difference these hangers make. The volume of your exhaust is still there (obviously), but with literally none (!) of the cabin resonance and drone, which makes it so much more livable, especially on the highway.

I was going to add an additional resonator to my setup or swap my catback to quell my drone issues on the highway, but with this quick fix, I don’t have to anymore.

Thanks to @gpvecchi for sharing this with the community!

PS: To any one concerned about exhaust movement with these hangers, I actually had some midpipe movement with my stock hangers that I could hear when entering driveways (midpipe touching the tunnel). With these new hangers installed, that movement is gone.
