Can you post some pictures?
I have seen pictures here recently of an install where the bottom pocket is, just in front of the shifter. Would't work for me as it would interfere with loading and ejecting a CD,
but unless there is some sort of sensor built into the module requiring it be located in that certain spot and in that certain position, and as long as you make sure it's properly grounded and the plug connectors reach and plug in properly, I see no reason that it can't work.
