New short block help, understanding service manual

Finally looking at buying one of these after dreaming of them since they came out!

Found an FR-S with alleged rod knock for a good price, considering my options and that the first batch of 2013 FA20 were known to have oil issues I am planning to buy a new OEM short block and transfer everything from the old engine onto that. Not doing a valve job or anything now just to keep it not as gigantic of a task.

Never done this before so doing a bunch of research, pretty sure I know most of the things I'll need at this point (oem engine gasket kit, threebond 1217H). Searching through that giant repair manual I finally found the procedures for disassembling these parts of the engine, including how and where to apply the RTV sealant, but it is breaking my brain at this point to try and figure it all out and understand the diagrams!! So now here I come to bother everyone else

Questions 1:
What is a list of the locations where I need to apply RTV? Here is how I understand it right now:
-Oil pan
-No. 2 oil pan
-Both sides of each head gasket
-The camshaft housing (will I need to remove that even?)
-Timing cover

Questions 2:
I can't make sense of these diagrams, where the line even is on the head gaskets one, how to understand the sectioned view... ugh maybe I need a nap. I don't want to overapply and cause the same problem the engine had in the first place.
