You'll be fine. There is only the one gasket where it meets the front pipe. Mine was in good condition after 2 years.

I will have a look at my system In the basement when I get home. It's possible the first mide pipe section is upside down where it bolts up to the front pipe. I recall there being a slight bend which would definitely effect alignment further down if it was wrong.

I'm fairly certain the rear slip joint section of the midpipe has the exhaust hanger attached. There would be no way to mix that up. But you can rotate it a bit if you notice one exhaust tip sticks out farther than the other.
