1. Square setup with:
18 x 8.5" 42mm Offset rims all round with 235/40R18 tyres.
2. Staggered setup with:
18 x 8.5" 42mm offset with 235/40R18 in the front
18 x 9.5" 45mm offset with 255/35R18 in the back.
Would either of these setups be fine? Leaning toward staggered as I think it would look cooler. Would I run into issues with the different diameter of fronts vs rears?

How flush would they be?

Also for context the rims I am thinking of going with are Motegi MR146, has anyone ran these on an 86? Cant seem to find info.

Thanks so much
Personally, i'd go for the square setup. Both setups will work on stock suspension, but it isnt going to look good because its going to be poke and will look like a 4x4. Unfortunately none of these setups will be flush until you lower your car. The 235/40/18 is going to be kinda tall so you're speedometer is going to be off and will affect your gearing as well. Id get a 225/40/18 or 245/35/18 for fronts or a square setup.

Theres no problem running different tire sizes for a staggered setup. I wouldn't run staggered because theres no benefit in doing so. This car doesnt have enough power to warrant a staggered setup. Also, from factory this car was setup for a square setup so i would stick to that. You wont be able to rotate your tires either especially if you end up changing your suspension and a staggered setup makes it understeer more. If you care more about looks than go for it you'll get a lot of mixed responses about running staggered setups.
