Ironically, given our conversation, I got one of these for my recent birthday. It does work great, if you put the right amount of popcorn in it. I put too much the first time and couldn't get it out fast enough before it burned a few (although I like the burned ones so it turned out OK)
Second patch I got the amount right and the popcorn was perfect!
