I dont know if we should even conclude that theres going to be a different powerplant option....thats kind of jumping the gun a little.

For all we know they could just be doing a "Toyota 86 TS" vs a "Subaru BRZ base" type of differentiation and maybe tuning the engine a bit.
Probably just wants a differentiation thats bigger than the 86 vs BRZ currently is (which is weird because they started off driving a bit different tuning wise but somewhat converged to be similar with the 2017 refresh)

Besides, the translation could be a bit off as is typical of google translations.
