Suppose it may depend on how those miles are piled on.
Never put much trust into any anecdotal evidence when it comes to wear and tear on a car and how many miles it will "last" anyway. Different driving styles, road/weather conditions and maintenance levels all will affect how long a car will last more than a set number of miles. Not like there is some timer hooked up to the odometer that says "OK that's 100,001 miles start breaking down".
