The big issue sounds like you have a tune for parts and systems that are not installed on the car anymore. You need a new tune or to get it flashed back to stock. 2nd issue is white smoke from engine bay. Is there something electrical burning or coolant?
What flex fuel kit did it have? These will communicate to the ECU to control it tuning. This would have plunged into a O2 sensor or the evap solenoid.
