Oh that's my mistake. It is an EH. A friend of mine, that owns one, calls it an EG. Now I'm so confused LOL.
Okay so it's a 1994 Si hatchback, so that's EH3? Either way, I drove it yesterday and was a bit disappointed. A few things were misrepresented (I don't think intentionally by some people). Supposedly, the drivetrain dropped into it only has 60k miles on it. BUT:
- under full throttle there was too much smoke coming out the exhaust (too much being, to me, more smoke than my 345k mile original engine GSR
- 3rd gear synchro grind in the transmission (seriously?)
- speedometer needle goes crazy over 5000 rpm (just bouncing like a loon - made it worthless) probably an easy fix though
- strange intermittent low speed squeak from right front area of the car (thinking under hood, not suspension)
I didn't really wring it out, b/c the car's slammed right now (would fix that ASAP) and the tires were shit - so old and shiny that they were squeaking constantly as I turned it around in a parking lot. No LSD, which is disappointing. Also the steering ratio was absolute crap - which I'm guessing is just how Si's of that era were delivered from the factory (was hard to compare that to my buddy's hatchback b/c he has manual steering).
My basis of comparison for handling/steering/power is my old GSR. At a min, this car should be faster (300-400lb lighter with equal power). It didn't feel faster. Of course, my memory could be slightly thrown off by my current DD ride, the GTI, which puts down a max of 350 lb-ft torque hahaha.
