Our ARC-8 17x9"
ET42 will work great with the non-Sachs stock suspension and 245/40-17 Michelin PS4S tires. No spacers are required as long as you are
not dialing in camber at the knuckle (camber bolts compromise wheel to strut clearance unlike adjustable camber plates). The higher ET42 offset keeps the wheel tucked under the fenders for a flush fitment without poke so that camber is not a requirement.
For enthusiasts running the PP Sachs struts (which have a slightly larger silhouette), or for enthusiasts that plan to dial in camber at the knuckle using camber bolts, we recently developed an ARC-8 17x9"
ET35 which will position the wheel 7mm further away from the strut thus avoiding the need for spacers. Due to the more aggressive offset, a touch of negative camber is recommended to prevent the wheel and tire from poking.
Edit: The new ARC-8 17x9" ET35 is now live on our site!

The idea is to give 86/BRZ owners both 9" fitment options to ensure drivers can acquire a wheel that best suits their specific needs without compromise.
