I'll say one thing, if Covid19 was an escaped bioweapon, it's an ineffective one.
The last people you would go after in a war are the elderly.
The virus could have escaped from a research lab, but there has been no tangible evidence presented.
I'm guessing it started from the same source as SARS, since they are such closely related viruses. We had a SARS outbreak in Toronto if anyone is familiar. Hospital employees died as well as patients and it wreaked havoc for awhile in 2003 and there were 38 deaths. The issue was, they had no rapid antigen test to distinguish from flu or pneumonia so it spread in a hospital setting. The result was 38 fatalities with 67% fatality over age 65. It was traced to have traveled here from Hong Kong.
Even if they did trace the outbreak to a Chinese lab breach, who are you going to punish? A few executions to add to the overall situation?
Interested in what info these microbiologists are basing their suspicions on. We have already seen the viruses evolve insitu, so who knows.
