That isn't how rice works.

You have no idea how many peoples laptops and phones I have opened due to water damage and finding the laptops in particular being full of rice and still having water inside.

Put thing like that in in a container with actual moisture absorbing packets like damp rid.
That would be more likely to do something, even then I doubt It'd do much.
