All sources from the government say you should get tested within a few days of returning from travel. All the testing places say you must have symptoms to be tested, half need a doctor's order, others require you to be examined by a doctor first, etc, due to limited availability. I tried, not everyone can take a whole day off to do nothing.
Oh, and then you wait for 5-7 business days for a result. They have faster tests, but they want to save those for people with existing conditions. So by the time you can start contact tracing, it is at least 10 days from having symptoms show up and you are likely already over it, and it probably spread to another hundred people. Like wtf are we doing here guys.
Now I and a coworker from my trip (he is in Texas) both have a sore throat and all the test sites are closed because we have a 10% chance of getting up to an inch of snow in my part of MD.

You must be on the eastern shore because where I work its projecting a 100% chance of 1-3". My house however is 100% chance of 5-8". Yet here I sit, glad I didn't drive the FRS today....
Good luck with that cold tho, I'd just quarantine if your work will allow it (and pay you for it).
