Valenti Tail Light Post Snapped During Re-Install with GasketNinja Gaskets
I got a set of replacement gaskets from Gasket Ninja to swap out with the gaskets provided with the lights, as the right side was collecting condensation inside. Took the lights off and dried them out thoroughly, and when attempting to reinstall them the lower right post snapped on the right tail light, so now the new gasket can no longer get a good seal and the moisture problem is even worse now. Gonna reinstall the stock tails for now while I figure out what to do.
I contacted Modbargains regarding the warranty, as I ordered them in October 2019 and received them in April 2020, so they should still be covered. Their initial response to me is that the light wouldn't be covered under warranty "due to a modification you made to the product". Still waiting to hear back with more info about how both the provided gasket failing despite correct installation and the post itself snapping off during reinstallation to the manufacturer recommended torque are both uncovered due to the "modification" I made of replacing the faulty provided gasket with a better option when I would consider both to be separate issues with the product itself.
Needless to say, having to wait 6 months to receive the lights and then having one of them fail like this in under a year only to be told they're not covered under warranty due to my "modification" of replacing a part that's meant to be routinely replaced and is known to everyone to be undersized for the light to create a decent seal is extremely frustrating. I went with Modbargains because everyone talks up their customer service, but so far this experience has been a bad one overall.
If Modbargains refuses to honor the warranty and replace the light, how could I try to repair the post? It snapped basically in half so I was thinking I'd try some JBWeld once I don't have to worry about not modifying the lights to stay within the warranty.
Has anyone else had this issue? Both with the post itself snapping and Modbargains not honoring the warranty. How did you end up handling it?
Thanks for your time guys!
