I have been continuing to upgrade the car but I have not been updating this thread. I am going to try and make some posts with the new mods (tail lights, battery, airbag).
I recently reinstalled my 3D Carbon rear spoiler. I previously had it installed by two different body shops and they both messed it up.
I originally took it to Pure Automotive and they put it on off center. They tried to tell me it was an aftermarket part and that was just the fitment. I still took it back and had them reinstall it. They got it centered, but the ends of the spoiler lifted up within a week or two.
The second shop I found through a recommendation on a local Facebook car enthusiast group. The shop told me they specialized in aftermarket parts and had done many 3M tape spoilers before. I bought a new spoiler for them to use because they requested it. When I went to pick the car up, the ends of the spoiler were already lifting up. I left the car so they could try again and it stayed attached for a few days before lifting up again. I went back to have them remove the spoiler and they managed to damage the paint on the trunk bad enough it had to be repainted.
I got in touch with 3D Carbon and explained the situation. They swore it was just an improper install at both shops. 3D Carbon were great to deal with and they actually sent me another spoiler for free (third one now).
I decided to just install the spoiler myself. I got it painted at a different local shop and prepped it myself. I followed the install instructions exactly, made sure to use alcohol to clean all tape contact surfaces, and used 3M adhesive promoter on the car and spoiler. The spoiler has been attached without lifting for a few weeks now. Hopefully it stays attached this time.
It is necessary to leave some gaps in the tape to allow for heat expansion. Here are some pics of how to correctly tape the spoiler:
