As for power, max usable magnification for visual observing is around 500x. Those pics above were taken at around 1400x, but that's because I use some software to post-process them to sharpen them up. Each of those pics is an amalgam of around 2000 individual frames, stacked together.

One of the guys I work with has a mini observatory in his back yard. He just moved so he has to pour a new pad for it and a separate pier for the telescope to sit on.
