It's a 10" newtonian reflector. Specifically mine is an Orion XT 10. Go to www.telescope.com. They're a great company to deal with, with a very liberal return policy.

As for power, max usable magnification for visual observing is around 500x. Those pics above were taken at around 1400x, but that's because I use some software to post-process them to sharpen them up. Each of those pics is an amalgam of around 2000 individual frames, stacked together.
