Maybe, but what exactly did they add just for marketing? Other than the standard Subaru safety features (and all new cars are going to get lumped with the latest safety gizmos required in 2021+), I can't really see much 'marketing driven' crap that has been added. It still looks like a pretty bare bones vehicle (which I think we agree is a good thing).
For sure, we each need to decide what is right for us. The gen 2 won't be to everyone's tastes and won't suit everyone's needs.

I was talking strictly styling. The mechanics and the (hardly mentioned here) upgraded chassis are wonderful.
The styling looks like it was handed over to a 16 year old with the instructions to design a car.
The marketing input was "MORE BOY RACER IT NEEDS MORE THERE IS UNTAPPED YOUTUBER MONEY TO BE MADE"
What is all this new safety gear? The eyesight system probably adds a pound. The rest will be pretty much the same as before.
